Withdrawing funds from the stock market at a low point is known as ‘crystallising your losses’ - in other words, removing any chance of seeing their value recover. Our investment strategy is designed for the term of your pension plan and we expect markets to rise and fall throughout its lifetime. When markets fall our recommendation is that you sit tight and wait for them to recover although clearly we are unable to predict the cycle of this recovery.

This assumes that your pension is well invested, which we can check for you. Our investigations would also tell you how flexible your existing pension is should you wish to access any of your savings from age 55 onwards.
